I’ve heard about how amazing Caravan is for dinner, but seeing as we already ate, it was nice to at least try something off the menu. The space was very cozy, with lots of candles, dim lights and a low, tiled ceiling. Considering how cold it was the night we went, it seemed extra inviting.
With three girls sharing, we thought it made sense to try two different desserts. Secretly eying the carrot cake but not wanting to say anything, I might have reacted too quickly when Meaghan threw it out as an option. I’m thankful she did though because it was sooo good. The cake was the just right texture and flavor, and the vanilla frosting was thick and sweet – totally perfect!
I know some people can’t wrap their heads around veggies in desserts, but just try a good piece of carrot cake and get back to me.
We also ordered the brownie sundae, served in a martini glass garnished with ice cream, coconut cream and berries.
It was gone in minutes. If you couldn’t tell though, I think the carrot cake was easily my favorite
The entire menu (not just dessert) is vegan and extensive! It appears to be mainly a combination of Mediterranean and Mexican dishes with some live food options thrown in as well. AND last, but definitely not least…they have brunch EVERYDAY! Now that’s something some people in DC can’t seem to wrap their heads around…
