Next weekend…GW Campus…
A few weeks ago, I added the badge to my site so anyone interested could click to find out more details —->
And Tuesday night I was privileged to attend the DC VegFest Media Preview held at Sticky Fingers Bakery in Columbia Heights.
Blogger = Media. I’ll take it!
As soon as I walked in, I was gifted a bag full of goodies, including some food samples, lots of literature and even a copy of Isa Chandra Moskowitz’s Vegan Brunch - who will be there on the 24th doing a cooking demo!
It was really nice to meet some fellow dc vegetarians and vegans while tasting some delicious vegan eats.
I sampled the Sweet & Salty cookie, a brownie bite and even the grilled cheese. Turns out that while Sticky Fingers offers several GF options, including GF wraps for sandwiches, the bread is not GF. Whoops. I blame Daiya’s complete irresistibility.
Erica Meier, who is the Executive Director of Compassion Over Killing, said a few words about what we could expect at the festival. In addition to Sticky Fingers, there will be a total of 19 food vendors including Vegan Treats, Burrito Bandits, Cafe Green (my love!), Everlasting Life Cafe and Sunflower Vegetarian.
There will also be commercial vendors with more food samples and coupons, including Tofurky, Soyummi and Gardein.
Demos and speakers will present throughout the day, and a complete event schedule can be found here.
Like what you’ve seen and read so far? Make sure to come out on Saturday, September 24, 2011 for a whole day of veggie goodness. Hope to see you there!

I’m jealous. But so pumped for VegFest!

Me too! I was told to get there early if only to snag a dessert from Vegan Treats. Their website says they have GF, so lets hope they pack em!
