I can never seem to stick with taking a probiotic daily and I’m not sure why. I do have a theory though: I hate pills. I didn’t even realize it until I started writing this post, thinking about how I manage to take my sweet and chewable multi-vitamin and B complex every morning without fail, but probiotics never seem to stick.
Anytime I try a more grown up approach to vitamins, I also manage to quickly forget to take them. Same thing with probiotics. Pills are by far the most economical, but not if they sit unused in the cabinet. Another option is a liquid probiotic like Good Belly, a fruit flavored drink that tastes pretty good, but can be pretty pricey when taken daily.
Enter Attune bars. Not as cheap as pills, but also not as expensive as Good Belly, the dark chocolate bar is worth every penny. It’s vegan, gluten-free and tastes just like a great piece of dark chocolate. Since I consider myself somewhat of a chocoholic, I’ll put it out there that this is pretty good stuff. These bars don’t have the same gritty texture as other chocolate probiotics I’ve tried in the past.
One bar has only 80 calories and contains 6.1 billion probiotic CFUs. The general daily recommendation for probiotics is 6-10 CFUs a day, so just one bar leaves you sittin’ pretty. I still can’t get over how I can get my probiotic AND chocolate fix every day with this perfectly sized bar. Looks like I’ll never forget to take my probiotic again…
