I’ve always loved the convenience of a bar. For years, I’ve been stocking up at WF on my favorites. Sometimes if I’m out and about and need a snack or if I’m traveling, I’ll pick one of my old stand-bys:
These bars taste exactly like a dark chocolate crunch bar – except they’re actually really good for you! As you can see, they have 10g of protein which is really good for a bar. They are a bit pricier than some of the others, but I don’t get them all of the time so once in a while is okay.
I love the reaction these bars get. It’s basically the equivalent of a green smoothie in a bar – and since I love green smoothies, this a definitely a favorite. They are somewhat sweet, but not overwhelmingly so. Also a bit pricey, but one bar will fill you up for a while.
I haven’t purchased Larabars in quite sometime (they’re also pretty easy to make at home), and when I was standing in the aisle at WF recently, trying to decide on which flavor bar to get, a friendly vegan offered her advice. I’ve actually gotten a lot of great advice in WF on which is the best brand or flavor of something vegan, and I really appreciate how friendly people can be sometimes. Or, maybe I just look that confused. Either way, she suggested the coconut cream pie, and my choice was the peanut butter and jelly. I love coconut so it was an easy sell, and I was curious about the PB&J bar. Turns out, it tastes exactly like a PB&J sandwich. I was really impressed!
These bars are mainly made of flax seeds and sesame seeds, so they are high in both Omega-3′s and fiber. Don’t let that fool you though, these are probably the sweetest of the bars I buy. I like the almond flavor best, but there’s a total of a dozen of flavors, including chocolate, cherry and apricot.
So, overload on the energy bar info? What can I say, I know my bars.
